Basically, this is the photoblog of Nikki P.
Autobiographically, Nikki P. is me. Born in Welland, Ontario, I was raised there, took family trips up north to camp in the summers, but never really travelled much aside from that as a kid. My nana, papa, and uncle watched us each weekday for a couple hours after school until my father got home. Both parents worked full time to raise four (4) kids, each comprised of their own quirks and peculiarities. Nana and Papa's house was over 100 years old with many old trinkets, cats, and a big blackboard we'd draw on sometimes. That house was also home to the imagination of all us kids, and as a result of a combination of our big personalities and Nana's love, there were about a billion pictures captured of our youth.
I won't be posting any of those here. I tell you this to lend some idea of what got me into taking pictures in the first place. I'm almost positive the first shots I ever took were on a Polaroid, and I would be fascinated by cameras and video cameras from there forward. I bought my first digital camera on a whim in 2001-ish to capture a funny looking old man dressed 'gangster' in a shopping mall I had seen that day. It sucked. Since that day, I like to think I've improved (but you'll have to guess since I won't be posting that shot either. By the way, I still see him in that mall sometimes, but I don't think he remembers me).
